Under a recently awarded 10-year Forest Stewardship contract with the U.S. Forest Service, West Range Reclamation is tasked with reducing hazardous fuels and beetle-killed timber on the Front Range forests of Colorado. West Range makes every attempt to utilize the product removed in the course of our fuels reduction treatments. Using woody biomass instead of wasting it, has numerous social, economic and environmental benefits.
West Range uses state of the art heavy equipment to de-limb, de-bark, grind, screen and sort biomass, thereby turning residues from hazardous fuels reduction and forest health projects into useable resources. The resulting materials can be used as energy biomass, fuel pellets, landscaping materials, and paper products.
