The loss of our natural fire regime in the west has led to an undesirable increase in woody plants, impacting the capacity and diversity of our rangelands. West Range rangeland management team has been at the forefront of rangeland restoration in the Rocky Mountain Region. Our Lawson Aerator, equipped with a Great Plains drop seeder, has been proven successful in inter-seeding grasses, forbs and legumes in a variety of rangeland conditions. Variable drum angles allow for regulation of soil disturbance and adjustment of percentage kill on targeted brush species. We will customize our tools and techniques to your site specific conditions to meet all your rangeland management requirements.
In rocky terrain and frozen ground, the Dixie Harrow provides an effective solution for brush management. West Range has developed a unique dual harness to provide operating widths of up to 30 feet. We offer a dual-wheel broadcast seeder that evenly distributes seed in front of the harrow.
West Range Reclamation's 20-foot Flex Wing Brush Beater cuts up to four (4) inch in diameter material making short work of large acreages.
Past Treatments
In 2003, the Kremmling BLM Field Office funded our Lawson Aerator treatment near Radium, Colorado. The 2001 Hyatt Ranch Lawson Aerator treatment was deferred from grazing for two growing seasons following the treatment. After the deferment period, the Hyatt Ranch implemented a sustainable rotational grazing management system.
New for 2009, West Range Reclamation, LLC, now offers rangeland drill interseeding with this 12-foot Snowy River Drill built in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
