The Forest Management and Rangeland Management Industries have received a lot of attention in the past ten years attributed mainly to record-breaking wildfire seasons.  The settlement of the American West continues to intensify and most of the forests and rangelands that draw people are not only in an unmanaged condition, but they are dangerously loaded with hazardous fuels.  Many of our national forests as well as private landowners are creating Forest Management and Rangeland Management plans to aid in fuels reductions projects across the country.

Wildfire has historically played an essential role in the natural development of our Western ecosystems, but today's wildfires are not those of the past.  We have all seen on television, or witnessed firsthand, the devastating wildland fires recent years.  They are haunting evidence of the effects of a century of fire suppression combined with several decades of declining Forest Management and Rangeland Management activities.
